Why did the University engage in strategic renewal?

The University’s previous strategic directions were found in a document from 1995.

The strategic renewal process gave the University an opportunity to review what it stands for and how to chart its path toward the future. It allowed the University to honour its legacy while looking for opportunities beyond its traditional strengths.

The process provided the opportunity to articulate a shared common purpose that will shape the University’s future.

The process resulted in a concise document clearly stating the University’s strategic directions. It will be a valuable resource in guiding the University’s evolution and will help U of G successfully adapt to whatever the future brings.
